About the Harbourside Gallery
Visit the Harbourside Gallery in the beautiful historic village of Westport, Ontario, and discover a curated collection of art, glass, antiques, gifts, vintage treasures and collectables, in a charming Rideau Canal harbour setting.
Every piece has a story, worth finding, worth telling, worth enjoying.
Nestled in the heart of Westport’s historic village, Harbourside Gallery opens in spring 2026 as a welcoming space where craftsmanship, history, and creativity converge. We specialize in a thoughtfully selected mix of original artworks, hand-blown and studio glass, period antiques, unique gifts, vintage finds, and intriguing collectables—each chosen for its quality, character, and the narratives it carries from past hands to present.
Our dedicated art gallery section features curated works by talented local artists from the Rideau Lakes region and beyond. Throughout our summer season, we will commence an artist-in-residence program and regular events—including exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and seasonal gatherings—to celebrate local creativity. Whether you’re drawn to contemporary expressions, heritage antiques, or something delightfully unexpected, every visit offers the chance to uncover treasures.
We believe objects are more than possessions—they carry stories, connecting us to makers, owners, and eras long past. In a world of the fleeting, Harbourside Gallery honours the enduring: the honest beauty of well-made things - made to last, the patina of time, and the human touch behind every item.
Located at 41B Main Street, Unit #9, Westport, ON K0G 1X0—steps from the water—we invite you to come inside, linger, and explore our collections. The view of the harbour is wonderful and our space is light, bright and cheerful! Spin a record on one of our antique hand-cranked gramophones while rummaging through items from the 30's, 40's, Art Deco, Edwardian & Victorian eras - we even have some Georgian pieces (and books older still)!
A Little Bit Of History: Westport and the Rideau Canal Westport sits on the shores of Upper Rideau Lake, part of the iconic Rideau Canal—a 202-kilometre UNESCO World Heritage waterway engineered by Lieutenant-Colonel John By and opened in 1832. Originally built as a military supply route, the canal soon became a vital commercial and passenger thoroughfare, linking communities like Westport to Ottawa and Kingston.
In the Victorian era, elegant steamships travelled these waters, carrying people and goods through the many locks. One of the most beloved was the Rideau King—a luxurious passenger vessel that regularly docked in Westport’s harbour, bringing visitors from Toronto, Ottawa, and beyond... Our logo recalls this historic ship, and the golden age of canal travel when Westport was a bustling stop for travellers seeking the beauty of the Rideau Lakes.
Today, the harbour charm remains, blending village heritage homes and buildings with the serene natural surroundings of the area.
Come in and discover for yourself—spring 2026 awaits!
